Office Live Meeting Performance Test

This tool will analyze your Internet connection and report your supported level of VoIP sound quality as well as your bandwidth and consistency. The results of this tool help evaluate your configuration as an Office Live Meeting user. This tool does not exercise the Office Live Meeting service but instead focuses on the quality of your Internet connection to the service.

Office Live Meeting Network Ports

All versions of Office Live Meeting make use of the following network ports:

• TCP/80 (required)
• TCP/443 (required)

Office Live Meeting 2007 also makes use of the following network ports:

• TCP/8057 (recommended for optimal performance)
• UDP/3478 (required for VoIP and video support; TCP is also supported but UDP is preferred)

Office Live Meeting 2005 also makes use of the following network ports:

• TCP/8000 through TCP/8100 (recommended for optimal performance)

Tool Description

This tool performs four tests: an HTTP download test on port TCP/80, a direct TCP download test on port TCP/8057, a direct TCP upload test on port TCP/8001, and a UDP-based VoIP test on port UDP/3478. This tool does not measure your compatibility with the Office Live Meeting service but rather serves as a useful diagnostic tool to better understand the  bandwidth and network quality between your environment and the Office Live Meeting service. Depending on your network and security environment, not all tests will be successful. A test failure does not mean that your environment is incompatible with the Office Live Meeting service.
